Candidate Integrity Policy

The assessment exists to show us your own judgement as a developer. These are the rules that keep it fair for everyone.

Why this matters

Trainers teach AI models with their own reasoning. Work produced by an AI teaches a model nothing it does not already know, and work produced by someone else tells us nothing about you. So the assessment, and later the project work, must be your own.

What you may use

  • Official documentation for your programming language and its standard library.
  • Documentation for any third-party library you choose to use in the coding exercise.
  • Your own editor, IDE, compiler, interpreter and debugger, to write and run your code.
  • Plain-text notes of your own.

What you may not use

  • AI assistants, chatbots or code generators of any kind, including AI features built into editors, for any part of the assessment.
  • Solutions, answers or explanations written by anyone else, whether copied from the internet, a forum or a previous candidate.
  • Help from any other person, in person or online.
  • Anyone else taking the assessment for you, or sitting it on your behalf.

Confidentiality of the assessment

Do not share, post or discuss the assessment questions or your answers, during or after your application.

One account per person

Each person may hold one CodeForAI account. Creating another account, including to retake the assessment before your retake date, is not allowed.

How we check

Every submission is read by a developer who is experienced in recognising AI-generated and copied work. Reviewers compare submissions with each other and with known sources, and we look for signs of duplicate accounts.

What happens if the rules are broken

  • An assessment that shows AI-generated or copied work is declined. You may retake it 6 months later.
  • A duplicate account is closed, together with any application attached to it.
  • If we find a breach after you have been hired, we may remove you from projects, withhold payment for the affected work and close your account, as set out in our Terms of Service.

Your pledge

Before the assessment questions open, you confirm that every answer and every line of code you submit will be your own work, written without AI tools or help from anyone else. The date and time of that confirmation are recorded with your submission.
