Terms of Service

1. This agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of codeforai.tech and the CodeForAI platform, operated by CodeForAI (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Candidate Integrity Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement.
• You may hold one account only. Accounts must be in your own name and used only by you.
• The information you give us, including your profile, must be true, accurate and kept up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once at support@codeforai.tech if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Applying and the assessment

• Applying is free. We will never ask you to pay to apply, to be trained or to receive work.
• You apply by completing your developer profile and the Programming Assessment. All assessment answers must be your own work, as set out in the Candidate Integrity Policy.
• Once submitted, your answers are locked. We aim to give you a decision within 3 business days of submission.
• Hiring decisions are at our discretion. We are not obliged to explain a decision beyond the reason given in your decision email.
• If you are not selected, you may retake the assessment 6 months after the decision using the same account. Creating another account to retake it sooner breaches these Terms.

4. Independent contractor

If we offer you work, you provide services to us as an independent contractor. Nothing in these Terms creates employment, partnership, agency or joint venture. You decide when and how much you work, you supply your own equipment, and you are responsible for your own taxes, social contributions, insurance and any registrations required where you live. We do not withhold taxes from your pay unless the law requires us to.

5. Projects and work

• We may assign you to projects based on your profile and the quality of your work. We do not guarantee any minimum volume of work or hours.
• Each project has its own guidelines. You agree to follow them and to produce original work of the quality they describe.
• We review work for quality. Work that does not follow the guidelines, or that is generated by AI or copied, may be rejected and is not paid for.
• You must not use AI tools to produce project work unless a project's guidelines expressly allow it.

6. Pay and payouts

• You are paid an hourly rate for approved hours. Every project pays at least $45 USD an hour, and each project's rate is shown to you before you start work on it.
• Payouts are made twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th. Hours from the 26th to the 10th are paid on the 15th; hours from the 11th to the 25th are paid on the 1st of the following month. If a payday falls on a weekend or public holiday, the payout may be sent on the next business day.
• Payouts are sent to the verified default payout account in your dashboard. You are responsible for keeping those details correct. We are not responsible for a payout sent to account details you supplied.
• Your payout service may charge its own fees or apply its own exchange rates. CodeForAI does not charge you any fees.
• If we find that hours were recorded in error, or that paid work breached these Terms, we may correct the amount in a later payout.

7. Confidentiality

Project materials, guidelines, prompts, model outputs, assessment content and any non-public information about our clients or models are confidential. You must not copy, publish, share or discuss them outside the platform, including on social media, forums or code repositories, during or after your work with us. You must not upload confidential material to any third-party tool or AI service.

8. Ownership of your work

Everything you create for a project, including code, rankings, ratings, explanations and written responses, is created for us. You assign to CodeForAI all intellectual property rights in that work as it is created, and you waive any moral rights in it to the extent the law allows. You confirm that your work is original and does not infringe anyone else's rights. You keep ownership of your assessment answers, and you grant us a licence to use them to assess your application.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

• create more than one account, or share or sell access to your account;
• misrepresent your identity, location, qualifications or experience;
• submit AI-generated, copied or outsourced work as your own;
• attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours, or interfere with the platform's security or operation; or
• use the platform for anything unlawful, harassing or abusive, including towards our staff.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop working with us at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or close your account, remove you from projects, or withdraw an offer of work if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably suspect fraud, misrepresentation or a security risk. When an account is closed, we pay any approved hours not yet paid, unless the work was rejected under section 5 or obtained in breach of these Terms. Sections 7, 8 and 11 continue to apply after your account is closed.

11. Disclaimers and liability

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that work will be available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, income or opportunity, and our total liability to you in connection with these Terms is limited to the amount we paid you in the three months before the event that gave rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects you, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect, and continuing to use the platform after that means you accept it. Questions about these Terms: email support@codeforai.tech.
